This design professional change order helps owners of construction projects keep track of additional services their design professionals perform. The design professional must provide itemized labor breakdowns for each invoice. The ConsensusDocs 242 has options for compensation to be actual hours at the billing rate or a lump sum. This contract document form also has a table for the remaining project deliverables and their respective due dates. This contract document can be used for additional compensation for a change in design Services in the ConsensusDocs 240 or 245 Owner/Design Professional Standard Agreements.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) publishes the AIA G802-2017, which amends an architect’s scope, compensation, or other terms established in the AIA B101 Owner/Architect Agreement. The AIA G802 and the new ConsensusDocs 242 are comparable documents.
