The design professional must provide itemized labor breakdowns for each invoice. The ConsensusDocs 242 has options for compensation to be actual hours at the billing rate or a lump sum. This contract document form also has a table for the remaining project deliverables and their respective due dates. This contract document can be used for additional compensation for a change in design Services in the ConsensusDocs 240 or 245 Owner/Design Professional Standard Agreements.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) publishes the AIA G802-2017, which amends an architect’s scope, compensation, or other terms established in the AIA B101 Owner/Architect Agreement. The AIA G802 and the new ConsensusDocs 242 are comparable documents.
